Christmas - Show Captain
About the role:
Help lead Santa’s most magical team this Christmas!
We’re looking for an experienced, organised, and enthusiastic individual to step into the festive boots of our Elf Show Captain. In this hands-on role, you’ll be part of the entertainment team - fully in costume and in character - while also taking on key leadership responsibilities to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
From guest interaction and craft activities, to show support and queue entertainment, you’ll be right in the heart of the action. You’ll coordinate your fellow Elves, manage scheduling and breaks, make sure shows and activities start on time, and step in to solve any issues that arise.
This role is perfect for someone with a performance or guest-facing background who also has strong organisational skills and can keep a cool head under pressure
About you:
We’re after a natural leader who can bring both festive energy and calm coordination to our busy Christmas event. You’ll need to be just as comfortable rallying a team and keeping things on schedule as you are staying in character and spreading cheer to guests.
- A confident, friendly team player with previous experience in performance, guest engagement, or themed events
- Someone organised, punctual, and calm under pressure - able to multitask and delegate effectively
- An enthusiastic character performer who can stay in role while managing behind-the-scenes responsibilities
- Someone comfortable wearing costume/makeup and being outdoors in all weathers
- A positive role model who can support, motivate, and guide newer team members throughout the event
Previous team leader or supervisory experience in events, entertainment, or visitor attractions is a big plus.
Key responsibilities:
- Take part in daily entertainment duties, including character work, crafts, and guest interaction
- Lead team briefings, allocate roles and positions, and manage breaks
- Ensure activities, shows, and interactive areas run to schedule
- Be the first point of contact for team queries or minor operational issues
- Support with restocking materials and ensuring areas remain tidy and guest-ready
- Liaise with management to keep communication flowing
- Maintain high energy and festive spirit throughout the day - both personally and within the team
