Avon Valley Adventure Park - Event Car Parking Team

About the role:

We are looking to recruit a team of Car Park Marshals to manage the flow of vehicles within our on-site car parks throughout our October events season. This is an internal, on-site role - you will not be working on public roads. Instead, you’ll be responsible for guiding vehicles into parking bays, managing pedestrian movement, directing guests to the correct areas based on their event, and supporting safe and efficient arrivals and departures.

The role is active, outdoor, and fast-paced, requiring individuals who are calm, confident, and able to communicate clearly in high-volume environments. You will work across both daytime (Pumpkin Patch events) and evening (FEAR events), experiencing two very different but equally busy atmospheres. Getting guests on and off site safely and efficiently is central to the experience we deliver. Our Car Park Marshals are often the first and last team members our visitors encounter, and we take pride in making that experience smooth, friendly, and well-organised.

Full training will be provided ahead of the season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct vehicles safely into designated parking bays within the Avon Valley Adventure Park site
  • Manage the flow of traffic to prevent congestion and ensure efficient use of space
  • Guide pedestrians safely between car parks and event entrances, including managing crossing points
  • Direct guests to the correct zones depending on their event (Pumpkin Days, Pumpkin Nights, FEAR, FEARLESS)
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and the Car Park Manager using radios
  • Monitor capacity within your area and report when zones are nearing full
  • Support the safe and organised exit of vehicles at the end of each session
  • Maintain a visible, friendly, and professional presence at all times
  • Follow all site safety procedures and instructions from the duty manager or Safety Advisor
  • Adapt to changing conditions, including weather, traffic flow, and guest behaviour

Essential Skills & Requirement:

We’re looking for confident, reliable individuals who can remain calm under pressure and thrive in a busy, outdoor environment. You’ll be comfortable directing moving vehicles and giving clear instructions to both drivers and pedestrians, often in fast-paced or high-energy situations. A positive, team-focused attitude is essential, along with the ability to adapt quickly as conditions change and support the wider team when needed.

  • Previous experience in car park marshalling, traffic management, or guest-facing roles at events, festivals, or similar environments
  • Confidence directing moving vehicles safely and clearly
  • Strong communication skills - able to give calm, clear instructions
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to agreed shifts
  • A team player who can follow direction from a duty manager
  • Must be aged 18 or over

Experience working in high-footfall or multi-event environments such as theme parks, festivals, or sporting events is advantageous, along with familiarity using radio communication on a busy event site. A calm and composed approach when dealing with queues, delays, or unexpected challenges is also highly valued.

Working Hours & Commitment:

This is a seasonal casual role across October 2026.

  • Shifts are available on weekends throughout October, with daily shifts during 27th – 31st October
  • A mix of day shifts (Pumpkin Patch events) and evening shifts (FEAR events)
  • Some days may involve split shifts depending on event requirement.

You do not need to be available for every date; however, we ask that you commit fully to your agreed shifts. Reliability is essential, as last-minute absences directly impact guest safety and team operations. Please be clear about your availability during the recruitment process so we can plan the rota effectively.
