Avon Valley Adventure Park - Event Car Parking Manager
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Car Park Manager to take full responsibility for the planning and delivery of all car parking operations during our October events season. You will oversee the entire car park function across site, managing supervisors and marshals to ensure traffic flow is safe, efficient, and well-coordinated at all times. This includes planning layouts, managing capacity, leading teams during live operations, and responding to real-time challenges.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced leadership role that requires strong decision-making, clear communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will work across both daytime (Pumpkin Patch events) and evening (FEAR events), adapting operations to suit different audiences and demand levels.
The safe and efficient movement of vehicles is a critical part of the guest experience. Our Car Park Team plays a vital role in ensuring every visit starts and ends smoothly, and the Car Park Manager is responsible for leading this operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for car park operations across the Avon Valley site
- Plan and implement car park layouts, traffic flow, and zoning for different events
- Lead, brief, and manage a team of Car Park Marshals
- Act as the central point of contact for all car park operations during live events
- Monitor traffic flow and capacity in real time, making decisions to reduce congestion
- Coordinate arrivals and departures to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles
- Communicate effectively with internal teams (events, security, safety) via radio
- Respond to operational issues, incidents, or unexpected challenges as they arise
- Ensure all team members are working safely and following site procedures
- Support training and briefing of staff ahead of and during the event season
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on site, especially during peak periods
Essential Skills & Requirement:
We’re looking for a confident and experienced leader who can take ownership of a large-scale operation and deliver it effectively under pressure. You’ll be highly organised, proactive, and able to make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage both people and logistics simultaneously.
- Proven experience managing car park operations, traffic management, or similar roles at large-scale events
- Experience leading and coordinating teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of traffic flow, safety, and crowd/vehicle management
- Excellent communication skills, including confident radio use
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable and able to commit to the full event period where possible
- Must be aged 18 or over
Experience working at high-footfall or multi-event venues such as theme parks, festivals, or large-scale attractions is highly advantageous. A strong understanding of event operations, site logistics, and health & safety planning is beneficial, along with experience managing teams across multiple zones.
Working Hours & Commitment:
This is a seasonal casual role across October 2026.
- Shifts are available on weekends throughout October, with daily shifts during 27th – 31st October
- A mix of day shifts (Pumpkin Patch events) and evening shifts (FEAR events)
- Some days may involve split shifts depending on event requirement.
You do not need to be available for every date; however, we ask that you commit fully to your agreed shifts.
